We certainly welcome new volunteers.  We have a number of groups that work in the garden you can volunteer with. Please see the FMBG information sheet for volunteer activities.
We also have a Centrelink Volunteer program, 8am-1pm Tuesday to Thursday.

Please read the Volunteer Handbook for details on volunteering with the Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden.

If you would like to volunteer with us on a regular basis you must join as an FMBG member as this ensures you are covered by our public liability and volunteer workers insurances - FMBG Membership Form.

You will need to complete a Volunteer Registration Form when you undertake the volunteer induction.
All volunteers are required to read and sign off on all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relating to their work area.

Volunteers must hold or obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to meet our Child Safe Organisation requirements. FMBG must be added as a volunteer organisation to your WWCC card.
See FMBG: Child Safe Policy* and Code of Conduct
*Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by their parent, guardian or carer at FMBG volunteer activities, who also should become members.

See also Home Safe the FMBG OHS Manual.

Contact us if you would like to volunteer to work with our volunteer teams to help build and manage the garden.
